I am so fortunate to have received the Oxygenetix Oxygenating Foundation recently. I’d seen it on social media and wanted to try it as there were local and global celebrities advocating this product.
I can be a sceptic when it comes to celebrity endorsement because I understand that most celebrities are paid influencers. However, Kourtney Kardashian swears by the Oxygenetix Foundation in her insta videos. She has the funds to try everything under the sun and if she is saying that this is her go-to foundation and she makes her MUA’s use it on her exclusively, it must be pretty good, so I wanted to try for myself.
Why was it created?
Oxygenetix was created to minimise post skincare procedure downtime while healing the skin. That way people could have their skin treatment and wear makeup for 2 reasons: 1. to cover the healing skin, 2. to heal the skin itself.
Firstly let’s talk about the packaging.
The packaging is gorgeous and luxe, with silver detail around the centre. For those that love product photography and creating flat lays, this one is an easy product to shoot!
The bottle itself is a pump-action bottle with a few benefits: it keeps the formula in the best condition. The pump-action ensures that you only get a small amount of foundation to avoid overuse and avoid contamination. It’s also a great package to travel with as there’s no chance of leakage.
Packaging aside, my thoughts on the product itself.
I have used the foundation for just over a week, and firstly, it goes on so light and my skin feels like it can breathe throughout the entire day. My pores didn’t feel clogged or weighed down and my skin didn’t appear cakey at the end of the day.
Aloe Vera is the base of the foundation, rather than silicone, oil or water, and foundations; this is quite different. Aloe Vera is a plant that has many benefits, including:
- healing wounds (think post skin treatments and acne)
- soothing skin
- anti-ageing
- anti-bacterial
Plus, the foundation contains Ceravitae Complex, which helps increase the skin’s oxygen uptake to speed up the healing process and encourages collagen regeneration and connective tissue growth. Apart from the excellent healing benefits, the look and feel of the product are pretty sheer; it’s a medium coverage that is buildable with a second application.
I’ve tried many foundations in my time, from pharmacy brands to Chanel, Shiseido and Armani; however, I haven’t tried one that helps heal and soothe your skin as you wear it! It’s practically another layer of skincare on your face while giving you a clear complexion. Plus it’s available in 14 shades and is vegan and cruelty free.
They have more products…
Oxygenetix has also created a Hydro-Matrix moisturiser to complement the foundation and an Acne specific option for both products. Most people suffering from acne cover up their skin; however, heavier foundations not only cover but clog pores, which ultimately leads to more outbreaks and can be a vicious and frustrating cycle. Designed to soothe and heal the skin with 2% Salicylic Acid, the acne foundation allows acne sufferers to wear makeup without aggravating their already sensitive skin.
I highly recommend trying this product if you are looking for a lightweight foundation or moisturiser, lasting all day and having healing properties. For Acne sufferers, I can only imagine what a relief it is to have this product now available to you.
